Garance

Born in Switzerland into a family that deeply valued the virtues of creative pursuits, Garance has been exhibiting her work in museums and galleries internationally since 1970. 

Rife with imagery of flora and oft-fictionalized animal forms, intersecting, overlapping, yet harmonious symbolism and gestural mark-making, and a masterful, fluid utility of materials and processes of production, Garance's paintings, drawings, and prints exude undeniable joyfulness, ceaseless experimentation, an admirable sense of playfulness, and, most of all, a deep and true love for the universe that exists within the work, and around the artist.  

Garance is a kind and generous artist, opening her home studio weekly for printmaking workshops. She is an ambassador for (and dedicated caregiver to) exotic parrots, an accomplished set designer, and a highly esteemed member of our North Fork art community.
